I thought he'd broken into the good liquor again but turned it on anyway.

There was a porn star called Tiffany Clark back in the 80s (love straight porn from the 70s and 80s, sorry) that had a awful nose job that was similar to Fabray. Imagine Nanette Fabray in porn!

I think she changed the spelling of her name when someone announced "Fabares" as "Fab-bare-ass" at an event.
I worked on 'Dave Chappelle Show" some years ago, and one of the old-time actors (was it Joey Faye?) said that she had had so many nose jobs that she was sometimes referred to as "No Nose Nanette"!
She was a really talented lady, and actually her original nose was fine. Don't know why someone (her mother?) pressured her to have numerous nose jobs.

I didn't realize Fabray's earliest screen appearance was 1939, in "The Private Lives of Elizabeth & Essex." She only had a few movie appearances before disappearing from the big screen screen for over a decade. Dolores Gray had a similar trajectory. No wonder both went under the knife to make themselves more photogenic.
