Yes, that's him alright. Quite a nasty piece of work by most accounts, those newspaper articles don't have half the story.
Had friends who lived on UES of Manhattan back in 1990's and they pointed him out to me either in Central Park or at clubs (gay) with strong warning to stay away. The guy was a grade A1 user and grifter out for anything he could get from anyone he could use; gays, trans, fraus, he worked his mojo on them all.
He isn't Swedish, but Russian (last name gives that away), though maybe his family moved there or something. The guy was hot back in the day, I'll give him that; tall, blond, muscular with (apparently) a big dick. Dancing at Gaiety, G4P rentboy, selling drugs, and of course using what he had (that body, looks, charm and big dick) to get whatever was needed at time.
If one has the story correctly from friends (and believe one does), he came to USA on a student visa but flunked out of college. The family apparently is well off enough in Sweden or wherever they lived but JI wanted nothing more to become a USA citizen and remain. Like all visa overstays those who are white/European tend to have an easier time of things so he remained in country and even traveled back forth to Europe. Then came 9/11/01...
After that event USA finally got around to enforcing immigration laws even against visa overstays. Since gay marriage wasn't yet legal JI needed and found a female pigeon (that poor unfortunate woman who became his wife) . He was summarily deported but got that woman to marry him and thus have her sponsor him to return to USA (hence her anger and lawsuits). It worked but upon arriving back in USA JI promptly joined the military to hedge his bets on getting American citizenship. This was in time post 9/11/01 when US military was taking nearly anyone including illegal aliens and or those with legal residence with promises they would get citizenship if completed a tour of duty.
Long story short Mrs. Ivancev finally found out what everyone else in New York city (at least in gay circles) already knew; her husband had a very shady past and worse had been stepping out on her nearly from day one.
If this were an isolated incident would chalk it up to simply bad luck, but have seen too many fingers burned on both sides of Atlantic when it comes to Russian/Eastern European men.
That poor unfortunate woman who is the former Mrs. Jacob Ivancev had a lucky escape if she did but know it.
