The right is obsessed with some kind of ideal of imperturbable Roman masculinity because they're so messed up themselves. They also are racial and cultural purists who can't get their minds around more than one cultural influence (which, btw, the Romans themselves were quite comfortable with). Needless to say, his history is a little confused. R27 The point is that all ancient Roman men who were not enslaved were allowed to be dictators and religious zealot leaders of their own households. They could rape, hurt or kill almost anyone within their domains without consequence. There were no binary sexual behaviors. No one cared if they raped kids, women or men as long as it was someone under their control. That is the ideal for Trumplike men.
