Lucie Arnaz reacts to Being The Ricardos

She looks really beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 2October 29, 2021 4:18 AM

Lucie's gray hair looks good, but I prefer her dark hair.

by Anonymousreply 3October 29, 2021 5:09 AM

Gary would have advised against that hair color.

LUCIE ARNAZ & MICHELE LEE sing "NOBODY DOES IT LIKE ME!'

Two fabulous broads!

She looks great. Love her energy.

by Anonymousreply 7October 29, 2021 5:41 AM

R8 I did a search, I didn't see anything. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

by Anonymousreply 9October 30, 2021 2:29 AM

I love her and she looks great.

FYI did any of you know she's married to the actor who played Hank in the original "Boys in the band"?

The more you know...

R11...Good, that makes me happy.

I would love to know how many subscribers R13 has, myself.

She is so pleasant and fun to listen to. Her voice is soothing. What an honor to have Lucy and Desi as a mother and father. It basically makes one a national treasure. She just comes across as so humble. She was raised well.

by Anonymousreply 15October 30, 2021 2:55 AM

How much do you think she's worth?

I suspect she and Dezi, Jr. and Sony Bono, who was his lover back in the 2010s are worth over 10 million.

by Anonymousreply 16October 30, 2021 2:58 AM

R16. Desi Jr and Sonny Bono were lovers? Am I misunderstanding your post?

by Anonymousreply 17October 30, 2021 3:01 AM

^ That's SONY Bono the electronic kid

by Anonymousreply 18October 30, 2021 3:11 AM

Did somebody mention TPOS?

R16 is quite drunk tonight

She sure is, R21. About 20 years ago, when she was trying to get a production of “Wonderful Town” to Broadway, she was very kind in giving me an hour-long interview for our local L.A.-area (Glendale) newspaper. The show was playing in a couple of civic-light-opera-style theaters, and I’m sure she was happy for the publicity.

She and I got along very well, was happy that I focused on her career, and asked only one question about her parents. We met a few days later backstage at the Glendale theater and was as gracious as could be – and absolutely stunning.

Lucie graciously allowed me to tell her the story of how I met her mother at a small theater in Hollywood back around 1980, when the producer of the show I was working on found out that Lucy was waiting in line to get seated and asked me to talk to her about coming into the theater earlier or giving her whatever preferential treatment she wanted.

The old broad, in her cigarette-and-highball-soaked voice, said she was fine waiting in line, and what a sweet young man I was to look after her. Her hair was as orange as you’ve always seen it, and she was wearing a white leather-fringed pantsuit that really flattered her figure. I was calm during our brief chat, but absolutely queened out (complete with vapors) after I talked with her.

Great story, R22. Thanks for sharing it.

by Anonymousreply 23October 30, 2021 7:23 AM

Is she a 'star'? Aside from some stage work she never really made it in showbiz. I'm sure Lucy's death made her very rich; she should take the money and retire from public life.

Which coincides precisely with the number of homosexuals on YouTube.

by Anonymousreply 25October 30, 2021 7:51 AM

@r24, Why? She's found a niche in this world doing what she loves, she does her theater and she's in charge of the Lucy/Desi legacy. She's not bitter or a screwed-up Hollywood kid

by Anonymousreply 26October 30, 2021 8:04 AM

R26 it so refreshing seeing a a descendant of Hollywood fame being so well grounded. Even watching her talk almost seemed like it was from another era. It so sad what the entertainment industry is these days. Those people are so cheap compared to Lucy and Desi. This is coming from a millennial.

by Anonymousreply 27October 30, 2021 8:27 AM

^ Despite her parent's issues they did a pretty good job of raising Lucie. Desi Jr. has had a lot of problems, but now leads a quiet life out of the public eye

by Anonymousreply 28October 30, 2021 8:36 AM

[quote]I'm sure Lucy's death made her very rich; she should take the money and retire from public life.

She and her brother have made a lot of money with their "Desilu Too" corporation. They basically live off their parents' work and fame, afaik. I didn't mean that to sound catty but I think that's how they make their money.

I'm Boomer-Gen X cusp so I'm curious: why did she almost sound like she was from another era, to you? How did she sound different from a Millennial? Because to me she just sounded like she was -- talking. I. e. nothing out of the ordinary.

by Anonymousreply 29October 30, 2021 4:20 PM

^ Lucie and Desi Jr. control everything Lucy/Desi, and well they should. Their parents their legacy to protect. The rights to a lot of famous names fall into the hands of people who didn't even know them (ie Marilyn Monroe). I'm glad Lucie is protecting that legacy and passes it on to her kids

by Anonymousreply 30October 30, 2021 4:39 PM

[quote]Is she a 'star'? Aside from some stage work she never really made it in showbiz.

That's because Sue Mengers pulled a Gary Morton and talked Lucie out of taking the JoBeth Williams role in Poltergeist.

Lucie was also offered Rizzo in the movie version of Grease.

by Anonymousreply 31October 30, 2021 4:45 PM

R30 They also make a lot of money off it. They aren't just protecting a legacy they're actively profiting off their parents long after their death. Which is fine, I'm just saying that is what their careers have basically become, and not surprising since their own talents are decidedly less prodigious than their parents'. And they aren't as appealing, overall. They both kind of failed at performing, actually.

by Anonymousreply 32October 30, 2021 4:46 PM

^ True, but if they weren't some corporate entity would be, at least they control what the world sees/knows about their own family. It's ok if they make some money along the way, it is their family

by Anonymousreply 33October 30, 2021 4:48 PM

[quote]I would love to know how many subscribers [R13] has, myself.

None as I don't have a social media platform. But I am not the offspring off two Hollywood legends. An offspring who had a career in the entertainment industy from a teenager. So again....

Bless her heart.

Believe me if Lucie weren't in control there would already be movies about Lucy whoring around with gangsters. Ever wonder why there's no "young Lucy" stories? Because, Lucie

And yet it doesn't sound like had any say over Being The Ricardos.

"And yet it doesn't sound like had any say over Being The Ricardos. "

I have a hard time believing that. With the above glowing endorsement I can't believe Lucie wasn't consulted every step of the way

by Anonymousreply 38October 31, 2021 9:40 AM

r35 That subject is covered thoroughly and pretty candidly in the currently running TCM podcast on Lucy.

by Anonymousreply 39October 31, 2021 2:21 PM

^ I'm not aware of that, but I still believe you'll never see a movie endorsed by the Arnaz family depicting the *real* young Lucy
