Lst Of Biracial Celebrities

I like how this list is set up and gives their age and the parents are in some of the pictures.

Never knew Louis CK is indeed multiracial. Props to him for openly discussing bigotry against mexicans.

Question: does Louis CK pronounce his name the correct French way (Lou-eee) or the repulsive American way (lou-isss)?

Keanu Reeves, White/Chinese/Hawaian

by Anonymousreply 5May 11, 2017 5:35 PM

Yeah I thought Keanu Reeves was a noticeable absence from that list r5.

by Anonymousreply 6May 11, 2017 5:51 PM

As he is from the Oscars nomination list.

by Anonymousreply 7May 11, 2017 6:26 PM

Mexican is a nationality, not a race.

by Anonymousreply 8May 11, 2017 6:55 PM

Honey, if you ain't all black, you ain't beautiful.

by Anonymousreply 9May 11, 2017 6:59 PM

You're absolutely correct (even though many hispanics view themselves in terms of race). Make that multi-ethnic & bi-racial.

I never heard of her until she started dating Prince Harry's but Meghan Markle is bi-racial - half black half white.

R12, PBS is currently showing a film version of the play "King Charles III" which has Harry with a black girlfriend. The film is worth checking out.

These lists are bullshit. Race is a social construct and a power play. Why is it that someone with a "white" parent and a "black" parent (like Obama) is considered "black?" We are ALL mongrels.

by Anonymousreply 14May 16, 2017 12:27 AM

Because Obama looks black, he does not look white enough to pass as white. He is biracial but he has more black features including skin color and hair texture that is essentially black. If Obama wasn't famous most of us will assume he has two black parents.

Racism R14 racism. Because if you're 1/32 black you're considered black in places like Louisiana. Then from the black perspective, if you don't claim and identify with the black part of your heritage, you are seen as trying to pass.

So I'm an old guy and more and more I find the concept of race to be invalid. There's a continuum of color, facial features, etc. We all originated in Africa. It's the HUMAN race.

by Anonymousreply 17May 16, 2017 5:45 AM

Old thread, but very interesting.

Jennifer Beals and Mariah Carey are bi-racial women who look more white than black.

Halle Berry looks more black than white.

Not sure about Lisa Bonet......

This can't be said enough.

Before Halle had her nose job, she looked more black.

by Anonymousreply 20February 7, 2019 12:59 AM

A young, black Halle Berry.

Mariah had a rather ethnic look before the nose surgeries and other cosmetic adjustments.

Yes, yes, R17... but how did you feel about it when you were a YOUNG guy?

Because you likely had more friends and influence on malleable minds when you were young/younger. Sorry, but it's easy enough to say you've seen the light when it's too late to matter to anyone but you.

by Anonymousreply 23February 7, 2019 1:17 AM

And, r15, making assumptions about people based on the color of their skin is called racism.

by Anonymousreply 24February 7, 2019 1:18 AM

R21, interesting photo of Ms. Berry.

Her "beauty queen" makeup is atrocious. Plus, those heavy 1980s brows didn't flatter anyone.

But interestingly enough, her complexion looks pretty darn white here, even with the almost "natural" hair.
