Thanks so much for that, OP. Best Linda interview I think I've ever read.

I met her once, in 1971. Such a sweet lady.

Bump, because it should be bumped!

That was a really good interview. She’s had an amazing career full of risks and daring.
The close was a bit sad, with her choices of songs that she wishes she could sing. Sad for her and for us.

Where is the Linda Ronstadt troll?
This thread should’ve hot 600 by now with his posts alone.

A bit astonishing that she took issue with the Selena jokes on Howard Stern and then she got most of the blowback from it.
I never really understood why people went on his show. I always thought he was cruel, and worse yet, entirely unfunny..

It’s a a great interview but she really seems to downplay her drug use at the height of her career. Wasn’t she a major coke fiend?
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 2, 2019 11:58 PM |
What she said [R8] is that she doesn’t seem to have an addictive personality. She’s been open in the past about taking drugs - she certainly would have had a lot of exposure in that industry and with the company she kept - but hers seems to have been more a used, never abused kind of thing.

Surprised she mentioned the McGarrigles but not Karla Bonoff.
I respectfully submit she owes Ms. Bonoff a great deal more recognition than she's ever given her....

I believe Linda’s grandmother had Parkinson’s, and it can be genetic, so that’s likely the source. But I have read that prolonged cocaine use has also been linked to the disease - just look at Richard Pryor, Robin Williams (LBD), and Pope John Paul II.

Do you think Pope John Paul II’s nasal membranes collapsed and he had to have a PA blow coke up his ass with a straw like Stevie Nicks?

She said in the interview that she has progressive supranuclear palsy, the aggressive Parkinson's variant that killed Dudley Moore.

R8, she did not have a coke problem.
Robin Williams had Lewy’s dementia-
Great interview.

She loves Beyoncé, as do we all. She was kind of the Beyoncé of her day.

Fuck off Beyonce troll....do you take some sick pleasure in derailing threads that have nothing to do with that no talent hack ?

You sound delusional R23. Get some rest. Linda Ronstadt does love Beyonce, she's said so in every interview.

Linda Ronstadt has been trending on Twitter all morning...apparently at the State Department dinner last night honoring the Kennedy Center recipients, she laid into Mike Pompeo who was hosting the event.
Per Sam Greisman....At the State Dept. dinner for the Kennedy Center honorees Mike Pompeo wondered aloud when he would be “loved”. Then Linda Ronstadt got up to get laurels, looked the fucker right in the eye and said “maybe when you stop enabling Donald Trump”. Icon.

He said something like he had traveled the world and "when will I be loved." Then she stood up and answered him. ^
The room was stunned and silent for a few seconds, then there some spattered applause, then the room exploded with applause. Linda Ronstadt spoke for so many. This must have been a very humiliating moment for the coward Pompeo.
For those who don't remember, this event is now dinner at the State Department. It always used to be at the White House but too many honoree's were turning it down cause they didn't want to go to Trump's White House. I wonder who will end up in the Presidents Box?
