She’s an interesting character. Religious zealot. Leaves showbiz completely behind immediately after FoL ends. Marries an EXTREMELY gay pastor. Becomes a Stepford wife, homeschooling her spawn and writing books about Jesus. Runs a ridiculous mom blog where she writes endlessly about Jesus and scrapbooking. Clearly living an unsophisticated life writing about being excited for a night out having dinner at a Cheesecake Factory at the mall.
And suddenly she reappears as a Survivor contestant, Divorces the husband (but refuses to say why... though it’s obvious he must have come out of the closet... and they are still “best friends”). Suddenly she’s a liberal life coach living in CA with a new boyfriend and a steady career on camera, posting all her adventures on Instagram.
I guess it just goes to show people can change..

Jesus, who get the meTVnetwork? I did a search to find out where in my area the network's available and all it gave me one nearby city on the dish satellite system.
How many people receive the network nationwide? How many people will actually know Lisa's got a show?
Look, I like Welchel a lot... think she's perfect for Hallmark murders & mysteries (she could play a pastor and each week a member of her congregation or from her quaint hamlet is murdered) but this feels like bottom of the barrel programming. I'm sure it's all feel good stuff, but damn...

Okay, here's my problem with the "it's easy to find" posts... a) I don't have satellite TV and b) what the fuck is Pluto TV, Buzzr or Stirr?
Seriously, how far do some people go to not have cable or TV through an antenna? Streaming TV without an over-the-air means that you do not get local TV, which means no broadcast channels, no local news or weather.
I don't get all of the options available these days. I've got a buddy who was thrilled to cut cable, buy an antenna and go with online streaming TV. His antenna receives one PBS channel. I visited him Super Bowl weekend, we could not watch the game.

As mentioned, MeTV is a broadcast network, not a cable network. It is available over-the-air in most cities, usually on one of the digital subchannels. If it's on your cable/satellite/streaming platform, it's because they've chosen a local station that is a MeTV affiliate to be available to their subscribers.

r4, I'm still here. I loved doing the parody posts, because I would often fool people. They were just ridiculous enough to be real. But I was always a fan of hers, though I thought her stance on corporal punishment was weird (pank me, mommy!). She does seem to be more accepting and she's very proud of her kids who have tweeted and IG'd about their support for the gay community, etc. She may be a life coach, but I think she still takes many Christian speaking gigs, as is her right and maybe she can actually teach them something. I agree she looks great - I doubt she has had any surgery, either.

There’s a video floating around of her ex husband at his church in Texas. He is FLAMINGLY gay in every way, shape and form. No way in hell he could ever pass as straight. I remember years ago in an interview Lisa said their marriage was more or less “arranged” by their pastor and they she had to learn to love him and married him because it was what Jesus wanted her to do. I’m sure their divorce had something to do with him finally admitting that he’s gay.

I've posted this before, but I always love a chance to share my Lisa Whelchel story. Many years ago, right after Lisa and her family moved back to Texas, I attended a party where Lisa and family were guests too. It was an anniversary party for Lisa's aunt and uncle, who were longtime close friends of my husband's parents. I still kick myself for not taking the opportunity to actually speak to her. But it was a large party and there was a constant circle of family and friends gathered around her. She seemed very down to earth and pleasant. I will say she was (and still is) a very attractive woman.
