In Love Finds Andy Hardy. Mickey is his usual jackass self as Andy Hardy. Judy was supposed to be 12 yrs old in this but that is preposterous as she looks to be 16+.

I think Judy was 15 at the time.

Glad to finally hear someone at the Datalounge call Mickey Rooney a jackass.

My folks said they loved the Andy Hardy pictures when they were kids (younger than Mickey or Judy). This one is the best one, I think. And has a Xmas theme. Is it on TCM right now?

They were a great team- real talent- corny movies even in their day. But still fun to watch because of the talent, ridiculous plots (all the same) and nostalgia. A talent like Judy comes alone every hundred years- Streisand is her equal but she was used differently due of course to the changes in show business over the course of the 20th century.

Streisand, though she's not a favorite of mine, is a great singer, an okay actress, not a dancer. Judy could do all three well.

Cannot believe an ugly little troll like him married so many beautiful women.

But could she DIRECT and write OSCAR-WINNING songs?

Mickey wasn't an ugly troll

"Glad to finally hear someone at the Datalounge call Mickey Rooney a jackass."
I saw a survey a couple of months ago listing the ten biggest assholes in the history of Hollywood.
#1 was Charlie Chaplin.
Mickey was in the top 10.

Mickey was undeniably cute and even kinda sexy when he was a teenager.
But did anyone's career in Hollywood sink faster than his? He was in the top box office numbers throughout WWII and completely done with by 1947 if not even earlier. Even Betty Grable and Abbot & Costello held onto their fame in the post-war years. What happened to Mickey's popularity?

R11 I assume you are using box office ChatGPT shit to come to your ridiculous conclusion or you’re from India.

R11 Betty Hutton? Louise Rainer? He still got work in some good movies and TV. He had a hit Broadway show.

I always liked Judy but Mickey could become irritating fast. When he kept his mouth shut and just danced, I didn't mind him too much.

I think Mickey was probably the first really big older-teenage male movie star. As for why his career faltered - he was not much more than 5 feet tall. Once he was an adult he really couldn't be a leading man. He was quite a good actor, though. He was versatile enough to do musicals, farce, serious drama.
