Generally, I think straight journalists shouldn't speculate about people in the closet, at least not publicly. Their positions give them power to do a lot of damage. I just can't work up any sympathy for Lindsey Graham. And his about-face regarding Trump generated speculation about whether he was being blackmailed. And that speculation leads to guesses as to the basis for blackmail which leads to comments about Graham's presumed sexuality.
If Republicans want to whine about this, they should be challenged about Graham's about-face. Use this moment to challenge Graham's behavior and explain the speculation.
