Is Marge Redmond from The Flying Nun dead?

Her wikipedia page says she died on February 10th, but I can't find any other references to her death.

Datalounge detectives, help me out!

She also was the Cool Whip lady.

by Anonymousreply 1February 20, 2020 4:12 AM

Wow. Datalounge missed that one.

by Anonymousreply 2February 20, 2020 4:14 AM

Another Marge Redmond died Jan 10th in Erie, PA but clearly not her--different husband. I think someone may have screwed-up.

Must’ve been the corona virus.

She was also Sister Liguori in "The Trouble With Angels." She was very good in that.

The person who added the edit doesn't have an actual Wikipedia account, so I'm going to say they are either trolling or mistaken.

by Anonymousreply 7February 20, 2020 4:26 AM

How could this happen? We need to have a hearing and Muriel needs to testify. There can be no fair trial without witnesses, bitch.

by Anonymousreply 8February 20, 2020 4:28 AM

She was Landsbury's understudy for Sweeney Todd.

by Anonymousreply 9February 20, 2020 4:30 AM

Her ex-husband's brother was a porn producer. The ex-husband was character actor Jack Weston.

If there can be an Arlene Golonka troll, then perhaps there is a Marge Redmond troll.

by Anonymousreply 11February 20, 2020 4:34 AM

If something on Wikipedia doesn't have a footnote to a trusted source, then it's probably wrong.

She was also Lansbury's understudy for Sweeney Todd.

I saw her in ST while she subbing for Lansbury on vacation. She was...competent, and seemed mainly to imitating Angela.

When I take a gander at Wiki, it says, "Marjorie 'Marge' Redmond IS an American actress and singer . . ."

And 95 years young.

by Anonymousreply 16February 20, 2020 7:41 AM

r5 And died in that film. Coincidence?

by Anonymousreply 17February 20, 2020 11:40 AM

Marge Redmond alive, Patrick Redfern dead.

by Anonymousreply 19February 20, 2020 1:00 PM

Someone changed it on Thursday 2/20 back to her being alive

by Anonymousreply 20February 23, 2020 4:18 AM

How odd to pick an obscure actress to start a rumor she died.

R21: See upthread---someone with a similar name died recently. The date was different, but there's probably some some sit that devotes itself to this sort of thing, perhaps a branch of FindaGrave.

Thank God she isn't really dead! I've been meaning to get up to Sarah Tucker's Inn to have some of those wonderful Cool Whip-topped desserts! So good to know it isn't too late.

Guess she did die after all. It just wasn't reported until now.

Marge Redmond, who played the wry Sister Jacqueline on The Flying Nun and starred for a decade as a friendly country innkeeper in Cool Whip commercials, has died. She was 95.

Redmond's death on Feb. 10 was revealed in the latest quarterly SAG-AFTRA magazine. No other details of her passing were immediately available.

The only regular acting job I’ve seen her do is in my favorite Woody Allen film, MANHATTAN MURDER MYSTERY (1993)

You can see her briefly in Section 5 of this video.

^^ I love how they feel they must illustrate how to make this (???)

[Quote]And 95 years young.

Please don't ever, EVER use that stupid term again. She was 95 years old. Or, to save completely unnecessary words, "she was 95."

by Anonymousreply 34May 30, 2020 12:11 AM

Was she also dating “Sam the butcher”?

by Anonymousreply 35May 30, 2020 12:13 AM

But wasn’t she fighting a oil rig fire in the Gulf of Mexico r34?

[quote]But wasn’t she fighting a oil rig fire in the Gulf of Mexico [R34]?

Yes. Yes, she was. She was helping put out the fire with the dust in her pee.
