R5 - I think you've misread. And the key is the reaction. There is no one having a shocked or I-can't-believe-you-just-did-that,-bro reaction in any of these videos. I'm an older millennial and when I was younger I remember a lot of straight bro "gay chicken" videos in which straight dudes would challenge each other to "do something gay" like kiss each other. These videos, on the other hand, just seem to feature gen Z's showing that they're comfortable demonstrating affection to each other without questioning their orientation. Yes, it's a little "look at how progressive I am," but we were all like that when we were younger. They're being a bit precious about it, but I think it's rather sweet and it feels like the opposite of internalized homophobia (for once!)

I think the curiously sexless & twee Zoomers are more at ease with and accepting of LGBT, but as others have said they infantilise the concept and make performing it into a condescending wokeness contest. I think part of that is the way they see gay/bi people presented in media and in fiction - conspicuously normal and at pains to be visible but vanilla or in no ways too salacious and tragic.
When Millennials explored gay activity it was with overmuch angst and bravado (and, yes, opposition from less tolerant kids & their families), but it was also with a lot of heat and a real dark curiosity. We were shown more tortured homoeroticism in its dying throes alongside an emergent idea of normalised homosexuality. Different times.

Stigma is literally the only thing keeping heterosexual men from exploring their gay side. Take that away and they're eager to, which is why straight men have found "joking" ways to dip their toes into the homosexuality pool. That way they can try it out and still say "no homo, it's just a joke".

I am not Gen Z and have clicked through this thread. My only reaction is this: maybe this will be a better adjusted generation.
