I was trying to reply to specific comments... But I don't know if the post is out-dated or what, but the 'reply' link is grayed-out. So I was unable to directly respond (only worth note given the fact that there seem to be tens upon tens of reply comment pages so, not only am i only responding to the first 5 pages of comments, nobody will likely see this one... bummer). Anyway, other than the coincidental fact that my "x-girlfriend" used to belong to a site called "The Lounge" (1 of 7 billion reasons why i could never trust her and we broke up), I got here through a direct link from Google and thus, do not benefit from the site's context. I only say this because it appears that many/most comments appear to be drafted by homosexual author/bloggers. Which I take no issue with, but just want to clarify/remind you that, because my comments pertain to the "irish curse," they ought logically to apply regardless of sexual orientation... so don't dismiss them because i'm heterosexual if in fact this is a gay blog.
Ok, so, here's my reply with respect to the 1st 5 to 7 pages of the comments: 1) "red" v. "black" irish: Bullshit. The fact is, we are a mutt bunch, however, with 'mutt' being only several mixes which created (pre-2004) an irish 'look', 'persona', etc... [occurring from 1998 to 2009, the Irish welcomed mass immigration, mixing our gene pool, thus, these comments pertain to existing adult irish and irish-american men pre-2004]... of which [the mix] are: a.) Hibernian b.) Celt c.) Norse d.) Norman e.) "old" English f.) "new" English [if some wonder why i have left out of the bunch, those of Scottish descent, it is because the Irish and Scottish, regardless of how painful it is for Scotts or Northern Irish Presbyterians to hear -- they are 100% covered by the above mix of groups, and indeed, the Celts actually 'ruled' [not completely accurate in use] Scotland FROM IRELAND via original base in Spain which was ultimately lost... but let's PLEASE digress...]
Ok, it doesn't take a genealogist or a logic wizard focused on the pundit square to understand from the above description that - to each Irishmen, his dick be of inherently subjective dearth, length and... value. Nevertheless, this blog is asking for a stereotype, so I can only add the following:
i) if anything, 'reds,' not 'black irish,' would have larger dicks, not smaller (and I say this as a well-endowed 'black irish' guy). The reason -- those dicks are Norse. If you google that and read some history - - the proof is in the pudding, no question. You're "leprechaun, fairy, etc. from Irish folk-lore are Hibernian -- we had dark hair, brown eyes and our skin-tone has been argued about for hundreds of years (with the reigning theory that it would at LEAST have been darker than our Norse brethren's 5-shades-whiter-than-you're-grandma's-picket-fence... and though 'black irish' in terms of hair color, i will also disclose my Norse features: bright blue eyes and pale white/red skin). [ps - to any Irishman from Ireland- although the term 'black irish' unfortunately poisoned Eire ultimately (i apologize for that), these are terms that originated from America (similar to 'shanty' v. 'lace curtain' Irish).
ii) This started as a New York thing. We all had our stereotypes among our immigrant cultures... Ours was one abundantly discriminated against. [And to whatever db suggested that it was "English oppressing Irish" and then we all of a sudden suffered discrimination in the Americas from "being Catholic" I suggest you check your history -- it was ALWAYS because we were Catholic, on both continents (Americans might be able to appreciate the following analogy: Ireland to the British Empire was like Cuba to us/the U.S. during the height of the Cold War - England's enemies were Spain and France, both Catholic, thus stake-holding/military fear made the monarchy consistently paranoid about Rome's effect/wath, 'nuff said)...
