Does anyone remember the gay kid in high school who hung out with the popular girls? He was always involved in their drama and sat at their table and was popular-adjacent, but was also an insufferable snot, messenger boy, and instigator who didn't realize that he was just a mascot and not really one of them? That's Andy Cohen. I am happy for every gay man who does well, but there is just something vile about Andy Cohen.

It's interesting tha OP selected Stepin Fetchit .
Stepin Fetchit was the stage name for Lincoln T Perry .He was the first African-American actor to become a millionaire. This was in the 1930s.
Although the characters he portrayed were viewed negatively in the 1950s. Many consider that to be a knee jerk reaction. A re-evaluation of his career has portrayed him as a trickster. A character with knowledge and insight other's don't have.
So like Cohen he masterminded a behind the scenes strategy to make him a very popular and rich figure in the entertainment industry. He created a persona that took advantage of the majority culture's prejudice and quite honestly stupidity.
Role model? I'm not even sure I know what that means. Although I do know it used to smear prominent figures by implying they are hurting children.

I hate-watch his show and a couple nights ago, he made a joke comparing Anna Wintour's meet up with the Queen the to him meeting another top on Grindr. It was such a clumsy, lame and forced way to again drive the narrative that he's a power top (which he's repeatedly boasted about). Here's the thing- power tops don't call themselves power tops. He is a vain, vapid, vacuous, shallow, narcissist. His life is so hollow. Fun, no doubt about - but he is an empty vessel.

Forget gay role model, he’s a bad example of humanity full stop!
He’s a sociopathic, social climber who would have stepped on so many people to get where he is now. This is a guy who was meant to be a behind the scenes TV producer and puts himself out front. He then makes a point of being seen with stars bigger than himself and shits on people on the descent (eg Kathy Griffin).
As another poster said, he reminds me of the nasty little gay kid at school who is the servent to the Meangirls. As far as I am concerned, he’s validated everything Kim Catrall said about SJP, by simply being besties with her. You just know this guy is sitting in private cackling and making cruel comments about everyone.
He’s going to stay single until he can find an out gay star who he believes exceeds his celebrity. As he is desperate to be one half of a gay power couple. Problem is, he’s so narcissistic no highly famous and successful gay man is going to want him in their life.
I actually believe he’s destined for some kind of huge Weinstein/Spacey style crash.

I do think Cohen is the OP, or at the very least reads threads about himself on here. An acquaintance of mine hooked up with him and said he was into humiliation. Starting or reading threads which he knows are going to trash him might be some pervy turn on for him.
I remember before he had his TV show, when he was still tolerable and almost charming, he had his video blog on Bravo.com. He would sometimes read aloud his viewer emails, some of which were trolling him then. He seemed to enjoy the depracation.
