Even the co-founder of the company who's had nothing to do with Ocean Gate in years has been on television saying that people have no idea how strong and tested that submarine was. He designed and built his own ship, the Challenger Deep, and proceeded to pilot it deeper than anyone before him into the Mariana trench. Say what you want about him but this is a significant achievement. I've seen the hate for him on this site in the past and wonder why all the vitriol.
And, I think the fact that he didn't speak to media until the sub was found showed restraint. Now that they've been found, why shouldn't he share his opinion on what happened here? He is connected to every significant player in this community. He himself admitted that he should have said something but didn't because while he had his doubts, he didn't want to trash someone else's innovation in the field. He wasn't bragging, or saying I told you so. He is echoing what a lot of people in the community are saying about this shady operation.
More is coming out about this insane CEO by the day. Today CNN reported that another father and son duo (which in itself is eerie) backed out of their planned trip in the Titan (their tickets went to the dad and son who perished) because they did their own research and when they asked questions concerning their doubts about the safety of the vessel, the CEO deflected and avoided their questions. So Cameron wasn't the only one who made these criticisms.
Someone else came forward as well, who went down in the Titan in 2019 and heard cracking sounds. After returning, by the skin of his teeth as we now know, he told the CEO that he needed to immediately stop taking the vessel down as that wasnt normal.
Last example: this fucking clown had rigged this thing with a hull breach warning system; What the FUCK is that gonna do when you're that far under water? He should be criticized - he fucking killed 4 people. Fuck him.
