"Queer" typically includes gay. It doesn't exclude gay.
I find it interesting that people who identify as bi can marry someone of the same sex and many people assume they are actually gay, or they can marry someone of the opposite sex and gay people feel as if they have been betrayed. Most people don't marry more than one person, so a typical bi person or someone who calls themself queer and may be gay or bi (or pan, whatever) generally chooses one individual to commit to. That doesn't mean they choose a different sexual orientation.

When he came out - not because he was an out and proud gay man.
Rather, while he was in the closet, he was discreet and seemed to have a sense of decorum. After coming out, he seemed to unleash the attention-seeking, insecure, gay boy inside himself. He switched to presenting himself in an overly flamboyant and slightly trashy manner from a more put together and classic look.
