Fag Usage On DL

What’s up with the usage of the word fag lately? I have noticed it is frequently used, and I find it offensive. Do I need to take a sensitive pill, or do others find it offensive too?

For me, there's only one okay usage of the term--if it's used in the context of a submission/degradation fetish and actually helps people getting off.

My impression was that, within the community, it was mostly used by trans and genderqueer people in a bizarre mix of affirmation and alleged 'reclamation.' And they can go fuck themselves!

Then again, maybe I'm in a bubble and haven't met actual gay men yet who use it regularly.

Only a bunch of fags would complain about using fag!

Ok, you all have made me think. I feel I maybe I need to take off my drama tiara and not be so sensitive. Shame on me! I will not be triggered by the use of fag on DL.

Although, I still do not want my family and/or friends referring to me as the “family fag” or he meet my friend, John the fag. If they do you might see an episode on Dateline, “The fag who was triggered and killed.”
