I have never read an unkind word about him, he seems like a genuinely kind person.

He was ok when young. But definitely not "hot as blazes." I remember a Playboy interview he did where he said he never thought he was good looking but after getting famous as the Fonz he was told he was very good looking. He seemed somewhat bewildered by that. And amused.

Here is the BBC page on his honorary OBE. The UK Honours System is riddled with political favours and outright financial sleaze, but sometimes they make genuinely good decisions. Henry Winkler is a good man.
