R3 -- So very, very wrong. Harvard is a curse. People who go there often feel like they have to always be special, have a special job, be a special person. It often crushes people. Of my five best friends, one is now on the streets, homeless; one is a plumber; one is a closeted gay man who lives with his mother (although he is a successful banker); one is a struggling writer who refuses to write for anything except prestigious magazine, which seldom give him an assignment; and another is in an institution.
For some, Harvard is a golden ticket, for others, a curse for life.

My boss once interviewed a Harvard grad for a job in the company. The kid told him how much the boss needed to upgrade his wardrobe. Needless to say, he didn't get the job.
A University of Toledo grad was hired. He's amazingly smart and a hard worker.
My boss will now never look at a University's name and assume the interviewee is distinguished.
