A week later she filed for divorce. All this news broke on the day she filed.

It's quite sad really. I thought she'd chosen to marry a "regular guy" rather than another actor because celebrity marriages never last. I know nothing about him other than he's a dolly grip. Does anyone think he's attractive? He's got a long face and sunken eyes (there were various "Lurch" jokes in the comments on the Daily Mail articles) and he doesn't seem able to smile properly. He's got a crooked mouth. It's obvious he doesn't like being photographed, especially by paparazzi.
It's hard to see what she saw in him really, but then her previous boyfriends have been weird looking, Adam Goldberg, Kick Gurry, Matthew Frauman (google him, funny looking chap). And Owen Benjamin, who admittedly has a handsome face but is 6 foot 6 to her 5 foot nothing and overweight.
Her son is 6 years old, so now it's just the two of them in the house together (plus her dogs and cats) and covid is still going on. Although I believe her mother lives nearby. On instagram she did a couple of interviews and mentioned having to home school him and that she's not a very good teacher so it's like "world war 3" in their house until 3pm. She doesn't share too much on instagram, just boring stuff like plates from Beaurush and beauty lotions. She's made no statement about her breakup at all, she's carried on as if nothing's happened, "liking" old pics of herself posted by a few devoted fan accounts, doing the occasional instagram story about her approval of Kamala Harris etc.
Just a few days before the fight that ended their marriage, she posted a pic of a fathers day card she'd made with her son ("We love you, daddy!"), then 4 days later, BANG! Oh dear.

Well you could say someone like Anya Taylor Joy is odd-looking too but she's doing quite well. Margot Robbie kind of outshone her looks-wise in Pan Am but Pan Am wasn't very good anyway. It recently came on Amazon Prime and I skipped through a few episodes just to watch her scenes and it felt so lightweight and hackneyed I couldn't be bothered to properly give it a go.
Her forte was playing dark, edgy and sharp-tongued. She's had some bad luck in her career - Cursed (took 2 years to make, was reshot twice and the result was a turkey), Speed Racer (flop), Prozac Nation (was shelved for years) and Z: The Beginning of Everything (was promising but was cancelled after 1 season due to some business about Amazon execs being accused of sexual harrassment, so now the series is an unfinished story)

I wonder how Christina first hit it off with her dolly grip husband. Dolly grip seems like a fairly low ranking crew member, between takes they must be busy setting things up and not chatting with the actors.
Christina has said that between takes on Pan Am, she played this game where she pretended to be a corpse and got people to take photos of her in weird positions or places, such as storage lockers. Margot Robbie would do it with her and was surprised at how uncomfortable it was squeezing into small places. Doing photos of her tiny body squeezed into very small places was something of a hobby for Christina, it briefly became a minor internet trend called "Ricci-ing".

R68 I think if it was filed with the restraining order it just paints a picture of mounting bad behavior from then until now. They both sounds like garbage people. But I have to say Christina sounds like she was OUT OF CONTROL and had a baby and husband at home and was deep in addiction. She needed real help, not just a judgy text saying "pull your shit together". I'd been incredibly disappointed too, in his position, but as ugly as her drinking may have gotten, he could have steered her towards a therapist, rehab, a doctor....you know -- experts. And in the absence of therapeutic intervention, resentments reached toxic levels. And it morphed into physical aggression. ON BOTH SIDES, people. Some good resentment...on BOTH sides.

History is now repeating itself (seems like she's trying to cut James out of her son's life) Her dad was a "primal scream therapist" (who held evening sessions in his basement which would keep her awake) and she described him as paranoid and emotionally abusive.

Ricci and husband's next hearing was scheduled for March 10. There's been no more news about the divorce. Either the lawyers found a way to stop the press reporting on it, or perhaps the press have decided it's not worth reporting on because she isn't all that famous now.
I really am curious about what the truth is, if she really does have substance abuse issues and did attack him as well or if he made it up to stop her winning the case and losing all access to the child.

It's similar in some ways to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard except Christina has a much cleaner, more normal image than Johnny, is far less famous with a more humble lifestyle and there is a young child in the situation. They're both accusing the other of physical abuse and they both have evidence in the form of texts, photos of bruises and audio recordings of arguments (Ricci seems to have managed to block her husband from releasing his audio evidence)

Among the allegations of abuse, she claimed that her husband made pig noises at her during one of his episodes of abuse. Now what is this about? I have a few theories:
A) It's a reference to her 2007 film Penelope, where she played a girl cursed with a pig's nose. It didn't do well and frankly it isn't good, he was trying to trigger her by mentioning a film she's embarrassed by.
B) She has body issues and struggles with an eating disorder. She was anorexic during her teens and has been quite thin for a long time. He was trying to trigger her by calling her a fat pig.
C) She had a snub nose (slightly piggyish) when she was young and had a nose job at some point in her 20s. He was trying to trigger her by mocking her nose/nose job.
D) She snores. She has quite a small nose, maybe she has small nasal passages and snores at night. The pig noises he was making were actually an imitation of her snoring.
E) He was just going mental.
Which do you think it is? Or do you have any other theories?

R85 Actually there is but it's just mundane stuff about custody arrangements - she's going to Vancouver with her 6 year old son to film 'Monstrous' (which, I kid you not, is going to be about a woman who flees an abusive husband with her 6 year old son!!) and she has pay his air fare (economy) and hotel fees if he wants to visit the son (but at least she gets to pick the hotel).
