NBC’s Chuck Todd fired back at Chris Cuomo on Friday after the CNN anchor unfavorably compared him to Jake Tapper, saying “nobody in broadcast television wanted to hire” Cuomo.
“I just read [Cuomo's comment] as somebody who wanted to defend that fact that nobody in broadcast television wanted to hire him, I guess, or he couldn’t get the job that he wanted," Todd told WABC radio in New York. “I don’t know what it was, but he was awfully defensive so he took shots at other people.”
Cuomo made the unflattering comparison of Todd and CNN’s Tapper in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published earlier this week.
“Anderson Cooper is a hell of a lot bigger than any male anywhere on network television,” Cuomo said in an interview published Wednesday. “I would argue that Chuck Todd ain't Jake Tapper. Jake Tapper has a much bigger footprint in politics than Chuck Todd does.”
Todd hosts NBC’s “Meet the Press,” while Tapper hosts CNN’s Sunday public affairs program, “State of the Union.”
Todd’s Sunday broadcast program is seen by 3.7 million people on average, while Tapper's cable program attracts an average of less than 1 million total viewers, according to an analysis by Mediaite on Apr. 10.
CNN declined to comment.

Cooper and Cuomo have been friends for years. And given the fact that Cuomo's brother is the Governor and his father was Governor before him, he has never had a problem getting a job on TV. He has one of the best plastic surgeons in the world and have you seen him without his shirt? The man's a beast.
If you think those connections don't count, Maggie Haberman owes her job at the NYT to the fact that she covered Trump for 2 years at New York Magazine. She was basically a gossip reporter until Trump ran for president.

These men are all TV news people -- they aren't geniuses who are designing new technologies to make the world better, they are not scientists uncovering new knowledge, they aren't teachers advancing the lives of inner city kids. Anderson's nose seems to be growing (literally) as he gets older. And I see noticeable bags under his eyes much more frequently (I am sure he has all kinds of treatments/moisturizers and procedures to deal with those, plus make-up). In short, everybody ages but his albino skin and angular features worked okay for him in his youth. I don't think he is going to age particularly well. His looks are morphing into something a little.....shall we say.. disturbing.

Chuck Todd is an excellent moderator of MTP (do you people remember that hack david gregory? have some perspective) and the above poster gets it right, he is a dyed in the wool centrist towards politics. The left thinks he's republican, the right thinks he's democrat, and sane people see him for the referee that he is, as unbiased as any cable news host can be reasonably expected to be. To the "but he's boring!" chorus I say this: he's not entertaining, he's informative. You know, the thing that doesn't get the most attention but actually means something?
