Young guys should wear their hair long. One of my relatives was in the military (Army), age 19 to around 35. By the time he could grow his hair out, again, he was already balding (hereditary).

I’m 61. I had a shorthair cut since the 80’s. I decided not to get my haircut since the March Covid quarantine. It’s now past my ears, past my collar and I’m able to push it behind my ears. Also, it’s silver and super thick. While I have a slight receded hairline, it’s not weird looking. The first time the wind picked up and blew it back, it gave me a thrill. I’m def keeping it long for awhile. It gives me some artsy edge I didn’t have before. I’m sure every here on DL hates long hair on men. They’re probably the same ones who don’t think men should wear shorts.

The 70s mane was more free flowing . The 80s hair was product heavy and much more styled. I loved 70s hair on men !

Of course it depends on the quality of the man's hair and his facial features. If the man still looks youthful and also has great hair, why not.

A man with amazing bone structure, a woman too, would even look great being bald.
A lot depends on the facial structure and the person's features.
As for hair quality, I notice, especially with a lot of older women who wear wigs, you can easily tell they are wearing a full wig or a topper piece. The dead giveaway is that the hair quality is way too good for such an old woman.

No one can articulate why a man who looks good with long hair shouldn’t grow it long.
We don’t need more shaved heads, or buzzed heads, or fades, or Hitler youth haircuts.
Long hair has been popular again among hip, young guys for a while now. Thank god the wishes of most uptight, queeny gays don’t set the agenda.

Some guys look fantastic with long hair. Avan Jogia is a good example. But I lived through the 70s and had long hair, sort of parted in the middle, feathered, and could put it in a short pony. But guys did not do that. Looking at pictures of me then, I am a guy who not only did not look fantastic with long hair, but I looked terrible. So yes, long hair is great, but it is not for every guy.
