She may look like an average midwestern woman…but she isn’t one.
Unlike your stereotypical midwestern dim-witted, fast food consuming frau with no concept of flattering clothing never mind healthy eating, Fonda is a wealthy person who can afford the best healthcare, therapy, gym equipment, tailored clothing, personal trainers - hell, even a personal chef.
Also, she has nothing to do all day but concentrate on her health. She can literally hire staff to take care of everything from childcare to cleaning to charity work (if any).
Add to that, she didn’t grow up as some ignorant midwestern fatso surrounded by other fatsos in her family and friend circle, which would make her current appearance seem “normal” to herself.
She grew up in a glamorous Hollywood family, which is probably what drew Elfman to her. Again, not some rube with no inkling of how to care for herself. Jane Fonda made aerobics a household word!
Again, I understand that not everyone in Datalounge lives in NYC, but obesity is NOT NORMAL, especially not for a former movie star. All the Lizzos and Lena Dunhams in the world can’t change this fact. All women want to be thin, look great in clothes, feel sexy and be healthy. Including Lizzo and Lena, I bet.
I have no idea if Elfman is abusive, but I hope the female fans on here realize that their idols are rarely perfect. No one is. You can enjoy his music whether or not his marriage has problems. Every time I mention John Lennon to a certain friend of mine he says, “but he hit women.” This friend has an agenda - he hates Lennon’s liberal lifestyle. He does not really care about the women Lennon did or did not hit.
I think some posters on here have an agenda as well - they are titillated by the thought of Elfman as a domineering, abusive man and long for more information along these lines. We saw the same thing when middle aged wwomen flooded the DL with Armie Hammer threads pretending to be concerned about the model who accused him of rape. They didn’t care about her, they were turned on by the story. I think the same thing is happening here.
If he IS a jerk, its not necessarily his fault she looks like this. Her mental issues are her own that she can either choose to treat or not. Maybe they’re stayed together for their child and have an open marriage, who knows. Most famous men cheat. If he cheats it doesn’t mean he’s abusive.
If it DOES come out at some time that he is, is anyone really gonna be shocked? “Famous person is revealed to be asshole” isn’t exactly shocking news.
