Based on a recommendation from the Critic’s Choice thread, I tried this one on TCM. (OP here )
What a wonderful movie. Filmed in Woodland Hills, CA- the original house Lana Turner’s character rents to Bob Hope (the author character) is still standing today.
Great supporting performances from Janis Page, Paula Prentiss and Jim Hutton. Loved the clothes, the cars, the mid century decor, the night spots and a real 1961 Hughes market scene!
Thank you to the poster who recommended it. Charming. Lana Turner was still lovely, What a soft, lilting speaking voice she had.
Has anyone else seen it?

I love this movie - it's like a time capsule of an earlier time.

Janis totally has the "Lucy" look from "The Lucy Show" in this movie

R12 - that was my first thought from the TCM photo as well, it's of Janis and she very much looks like a younger Lucy, as far as styling. Of course, Janis had an incredible body and was very much a sex kitten in this.

Bob Hope's acting changed right after he mad a fil called " The Seven Little Foys" in 1955. After that role there was always an undercurrent of seriousness to him - it matured him. I think " The Facts Of Life ", " Bachelor in Paradise" , and " Critic's Choice" are the best Hope films there are.
