I just started Abilify 5 mg (I was at 2 mg) and am also on Zoloft 50 mg daily (split my 100 mg dose). It could be my body adjusting to the meds.
I'm also worried I could have caught COVID again. I had it in April/May and had antibodies in June. I'm also on Descovy and Valacyclovir, two strong antiviral medications. A few weeks back, I had swollen lymph nodes in my throat. Could have been the common cold, and just as likely, COVID.
I take a ton of supplements: Kori Krill Oil, fish oils, Mega Men multivitamin (GNC), GABA, Choline, proteolytic enzymes for scar tissue from an injury, and a bunch of other supplements.
I could still have some damage from the COVID I had in April/May.
I'm 32, 5'10, and 220 pounds (overweight). Working on losing weight.
Scary times we're living in.

All those supplements won't help you as long as you're 60 lbs overweight. And Abilify and Zoloft will make you even fatter. Just drink lotsa clean water to lose weight and clear your body, it's the easiest and healthiest way to do so.

If you’re having heart palpitations you might want to get that checked out, might be serious.
| by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 19, 2020 8:16 AM |
Really R1? All we have to do is drink water to lose weight? Who knew?
| by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 19, 2020 8:17 AM |
Get it checked out by a professional, but also consider you may be having issues with reflux from all those ridiculous supplements. Some symptoms of GERD can cause palpitations. The multivitamin and fish oil alone would be enough to give you reflux, but you're taking about a dozen more on top of that, it sounds like.

Yes, fat R3, you should try it once in your life before obesity finishes you off like a squealing pig to the slaughterhouse.

Again, Dataloungers, PLEASE stop getting medical advice on this forum, because people like THIS guy right here are giving you shit advice on purpose, either because they think it's funny or they deliberately want to hurt you.
He's on COVID threads telling people to deliberately get it to get it over with and that it's not a big deal.
For the love of god, OP, if you're for real, go to the fucking doctor. Don't post at 4AM on Datalounge asking for medical advice.

R4 what?! Now a multivitamin and fish oils are bad for you?
| by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 19, 2020 9:05 AM |
Dear God, OP - you're a major pill popper:
'I just started [bold]Abilify 5 mg (I was at 2 mg) and am also on Zoloft 50 mg daily (split my 100 mg dose). It could be my body adjusting to the meds. I'd start by reducing all that and finding someone to talk to someone about your hypochondria
| by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 19, 2020 9:19 AM |
I didn't think it was likely that someone was genuinely asking on DL at 4AM if heart palpitations and wheezing were a problem, but OP at R8 confirmed the troll.
| by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 19, 2020 9:26 AM |
R9, they are all for my health. The psychiatric medications are for anxiety disorders. The other supplements I take because I suffered an injury (broken bones and joints that are still healing).
I will space out the fish oils though, they are highly fatty and can lead to acid reflux, which I've had a lot lately.

| by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 19, 2020 2:20 PM |
How are you doing now, OP?
My doc just prescribed Abilify for me (first time), and I'm having heart palpitations looking at the price.
| by Anonymous | reply 13 | March 20, 2021 1:36 AM |
Get rid of the supplements unless every one has been approved by your doctor who is very attentive.
You seem like you have a tendency to OCD. Get moving outside and simplify your diet and yes drink a lot of water.
If you don't have a sex life, get off the PREP.

I actually quit the psychiatric meds cold turkey. I've found Hell – it is the withdrawal from Abilify.
But I'm much better now. I'm taking the right supplements, smoking a bit of marijuana every day, and sleeping good.
I've found my essential supplement mix is:
2-Per-Day Multivitamin (Life Extension) **sometimes I take one** NAD+ (Life Extension) **essential metabolite** GABAplex (Swanson) **mix of GABA, L-glycine, tyrosine, theanine, and taurine (amino acids)** Hyaluronic acid (Amazing Formulas) **great for joints and skin** Bacopa Monniera (Swanson) ** absolutely fucking amazing for mental focus and clarity**
Also take fish oils (Sundown) sporadically.
I just bought:
Bifido GI Balance (Life Extension) **probiotic / bacteria balance** L-Glutamine (Life Extension) **for mood, muscle, and immune support** *These two are a useful combo for gut health and weight control*

I am off the PREP as well now, since I'm not sexually active

R13, Abilify is the worst medication known to man. Don't take it unless you really truly do need it? If you are trying it as an adjunct or add-on treatment for depression, just don't do it.

It's not hypochondria, this thread total bullshit and being fed by the same troll. OP and R13 are saying they have been prescribed Abilify. A Google search shows Abilify's patent expired a while back. Your physician would be prescribing the generic equivalent, aripiprazole.
R13/OP inserts dramedy about heart palpitations and price. According to Good Rx, a 30 day supply would cost about $12.
And now the thread seems to be talking about PREP and no sex.
OP is trolling. Don't feed it.

OP are you the one who typed R15 an R16? You have bipolar? You come off as having OCD - obsessive compulsion disorder. How are you doing now. A year of pandemic must really put people like you through hell. Try not to get overly wrapped up in your interior world and try as much as possible to leave diagnosis to a doctor. Don't self medicate. I've know people with bipolar and OCD and they go way way way overboard with self-"medication".

If you only have sex occasionally, what do you do instead of PrEP? The 2-1-1 dose of Truvada "weekend PrEP"?
| by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 20, 2021 2:18 AM |
I’m thinking of getting fat. I’m calmer and less “the world is going to end” at a higher weight.
I can’t get healthcare appointments to deal with mood disorders, so I’ve quit weed. On the plus side, I no longer shit every 20 minutes. However, it’s been a month and I don’t sleep or concentrate. Plus, I haven’t put on weight.
My next step is to quit smoking; I’ve smoked for 36 years and I’m a raging asshole without it. I may as well adopt penny loafers and flattering cotton sweaters that show backfat. I’ll have extra chins to add to the fucking turkey neck.

R19, when we say Abilify, we mean the generic medication, Abilify is just the general name used for that medication.
R20, yes, I am also R15 and R16. I'm not bipolar, I had/have anxiety and mild depression. I quit psychiatric medications and just used natural supplements and I feel a lot better already, just a few months later. I also quit Prep a month ago because I'm not having sex, and if I do, I will use protection like I used to do.

R23, there is something to getting a little bit fat. It's not the end of the world, you find.

All the obese, pill-popping DLers congregating here - just starting losing weight first, fat hoes!

R24 You typed a lot of words and said nothing. And you didn't address anything from response. Word games. You were busted as lying troll. Own it.
Oh, and Abilfy is the branded name. That's not a general name. Aripiprazole is the generic name.

What was your experience with abilify, r18/OP? Horrible side effects, I take it?
I am willing to give it a shot. My thought distortions are pretty severe and extremely persistent. I tried an anti-psychotic years ago and had to quit taking it due to side effects, but it's the only med that made a huge, immediate difference in my mental landscape.
If abilify, or aripiprazole rather, makes a similar difference but with more tolerable side effects, I'll count myself lucky to be on it, weight gain and all.
