Am I the only person who pretty much KNEW that the submarine imploded???

I don’t understand how people can think otherwise. We don’t have submarines with the ability to go down to ground levels of the ocean because of the pressure and temperature, yet they thought this tiny capsule would be able to? The window would not be able to withstand that pressure, which would lead to it erupting and an implosion taking place. The implosion probably happened on Sunday, the day they went down there and that’s why they have been undetectable.

It’s honestly basic science yet most people seem obtuse to it all. Whoever thought this would work is an asshole and the billionaires who agreed to it are idiots.

Yes, OP, you are definitely pretty much the ONLY person who just knew!

by Anonymousreply 1June 22, 2023 8:50 PM

You are not, the entirety of Reddit way saying this days ago. It was quite obvious from the start this would happen long before they ran out of oxygen.

by Anonymousreply 2June 22, 2023 8:50 PM

R2 where can I find the Reddit?

by Anonymousreply 3June 22, 2023 8:53 PM

I suspected it imploded at first, but after reading that warning the CEO ignored I was convinced.

by Anonymousreply 4June 22, 2023 8:53 PM

R3 The reddit is at reddit.com

by Anonymousreply 5June 22, 2023 8:55 PM

It did work though, this vessel made more than ten trips to the wreckage site before it imploded. They need to make them stronger, next time.

by Anonymousreply 6June 22, 2023 8:55 PM

How many years until the Hollywood feature film based on this?

by Anonymousreply 7June 22, 2023 8:56 PM

R5 are you slow? What is the subreddit? Idiot.

by Anonymousreply 8June 22, 2023 8:57 PM

I noticed the wires/cables on the outside of the sub. Is that normal? It looked as if it would be so easy for the sub to get hooked into the shipwreck.

by Anonymousreply 11June 22, 2023 9:01 PM

OP is so information illiterate he doesn't know the sub went to the Titanic several times before this fatal trip.

by Anonymousreply 12June 22, 2023 10:26 PM

What proof do we have about any of this?

by Anonymousreply 13June 22, 2023 10:39 PM

James Cameron visited the wreck more than 30 times. His crew probably a lot more. It seems there're perfectly safe vessels. This was just not one of them. Shady company as well. I'm surprised those billionaires paid $250k for a trip and obviously did not do any research. I read there were documented safety concerns about the vessel and company.

I wonder if the passengers felt anything or if it happened really fast. CNN reported that they're trying to recover the bodies, but people on Twitter think there's just some human soup left.

It did it 20 times, OP That might have been the problem, actually - fatigue due to the repeated trips down and back up.

by Anonymousreply 15June 22, 2023 11:01 PM

R15- Which was one of the warnings the CEO was given and ignored. He knew this and put people in peril anyway,

Obviously we do, given the footage and photographs we have of the Titanic. No, of course this stupid billionaire tube couldn't handle it, but there are something like 10 or 12 crafts that can dive down to that depth with people on board.

by Anonymousreply 18June 22, 2023 11:29 PM

I had to completely explain the concept of implosion to my mother, it was an idea very hard ideas for her to grasp.

by Anonymousreply 19June 22, 2023 11:32 PM

When you go out like an old Vegas casino!

by Anonymousreply 20June 22, 2023 11:33 PM

R19 I just witnessed a woman explaining it over and over to a bunch of adults. Crazy how many adults don’t know what it is. She also had to explain numerous times there would be no bodies in an implosion. They couldn’t get it.

by Anonymousreply 21June 22, 2023 11:35 PM

I tried telling my family that it imploded and they just didn't believe me. I didn't have to say I told you so.

by Anonymousreply 22June 22, 2023 11:37 PM

R22 my sister still thinks it’s a hoax.

by Anonymousreply 23June 22, 2023 11:39 PM

I wonder if the kid did something stupid like light a march or pull a handle.

by Anonymousreply 24June 22, 2023 11:44 PM

R24 your stupidity has no place on DL. There was no handle.

by Anonymousreply 25June 22, 2023 11:47 PM

Also lighting a match would cause an EXPLOSION. Not IMPLOSION.

by Anonymousreply 26June 22, 2023 11:48 PM

Investigating the stability of a DIY "Home Depot" submersible is the real $250,000 question. The $250,000 x 5 question.

by Anonymousreply 27June 22, 2023 11:49 PM

Didn’t people already go down in it successfully?

by Anonymousreply 28June 22, 2023 11:50 PM

I play a good deal of video games. The Logitech branded wireless controller was something they were asking for to fail. I have multiple Xbox controllers - even the worn-down ones have 10x more reliability than that cheap piece of shit. And all I do with them is play video games! Not control a makeshift submersible made in a garage holding billionaires.

Greed, greed, greed. Greed imploded the Titan, and the souls on board that also forced their children on board are terrible.
