Sometimes young male actors who generate early buzz get told very early they're going to become huge stars, and they often don't handle it well.
Sometimes if they're very sensitive they withdraw and hide, like Josh Hartnett.
Other times they buy into their managers' and agents' own hype and start behaving like douchebags even before they're famous enough to get away with it: this guy is case in point. They have been promised the world and think they already have it before they actually get it.
Then there are those who are genuinely mentally ill, like Shia LeBeouf. It's not clear to me yet whether Teller is cuckoo like Shia or whether he's just a dick.
